An inspection is mandatory for a new installation, after a significant extension, when a home is sold, and periodically every twenty-five years.
What the inspector checks
The presence of an RCD, the grounding and ground resistance, the cross-section of the conductors relative to the fuses, and whether wet rooms are properly protected. The single-line diagram and layout plan must also be present.
The most common reason for failing
A missing or incomplete diagram. That's a shame, because it's the easiest point to put right in advance.
The inspection is always carried out by an external accredited body, never by the installer. We prepare the installation, draw up the documents and book the appointment.
